Background
A customer in the powder coating industry required a safe and efficient method for lifting polished steel metal drums and boxes of powder from pallets to raised platforms or tables. Manual handling posed a significant risk due to the weight and frequency of the lifts.
The metal drums weighed approximately 30 kg each, with dimensions of 310 mm diameter and 240 mm height. The process also involved handling boxes of powder. A reach of up to 1000 mm was required to transfer the drums and boxes from the pallet to the platform safely and ergonomically.
Solution
Packline recommended a floor-mounted vacuum lifter featuring a two-joint swing arm with interchangeable drum and box suction heads. This configuration provided the flexibility to handle both metal drums and boxes, accommodating the customer’s diverse handling needs.
The recommended solution eliminated the need for manual lifting, significantly reducing the risk of strain or injury while increasing productivity.
