This Petrol Tank Platform Lifter was designed as a one off bespoke project for a company in the automotive industry. It was required to support the petrol tank so that the fitters could easily fit the tank underneath the vehicle during the assembly process.
Location plugs were designed specifically to suit the profile of location points on the base of the tank allowing loading to be accurate each time and for the tank to sit securely on top of the platform. These location lugs were designed using CAD data supplied by the customer and analysed at Packline. This ensured that the machined lugs matched the organic profile of the tank.
