Packline Provides Solution For Control Techniques

 3 Mar 2006

Electric motor manufacturers Control Techniques run a busy and efficient operation.  Part of their manufacturing process requires the manoeuvring of heavy copper wire bobbins from the stores to the production area.  These weighty items are notoriously difficult to handle and position, so a handling solution was sought.

Packline in Poole, Dorset were chosen to supply their Compac mk4 lifting machines to help solve the problem.  The added challenge was that the copper bobbins arrive at Control Techniques in protective boxes.  This meant that a special adapter was needed to lift the bobbins from their own containers prior to manoeuvring.

A working relationship was formed between the two organisations and Packline soon had the answer to Control Techniques lifting problem.  But it didn't stop there.

Brian Smith of Control Techniques said "Packline's solution was approved by us and put to work in our factory.  What we didn't realise was that they continued to work on the adapter's design and contacted us with an improved version.  To call them efficient and professional doesn't seem enough.  They certainly went beyond our expectations."

Paul Winter of Packline said "It's not unusual for our design team to continue perfecting an bespoke attachment.  We are delighted that our solution has made it easy for anyone to lift, manoeuvre and position the copper reels."
